About the robo-tweets, y’all: I’ve gotten one email saying “dude, wtf?” and one saying the same thing (but in a much nicer fashion. Hi Peggi!!!) The general idea was to have *something* posted when I have weekends like this past one. Let me know if you have an opinion, please?

Here’s how it works sparky: You look for oncoming traffic BEFORE you step into the crosswalk. Not WHILE you’re walking. The law may say you have the right of way, but that’s small consolation when you’re bouncing off the hood of my car. Why are you jumping in front of cars anyway? Did you forget your meds this morning? Wife leave you? What??!!??
To every bicyclist I’ve passed:
Y’all, I’m doing everything I can to be sure that there’s plenty of space between your bike and my car. I realize that there is only road and the dirt shoulder – I don’t expect you to go offroad or anything. But if you could install some rearview mirrors or something? maybe check behind you every once in a while and see the half-mile of traffic behind you that would be awesome.
i had to call my fave bike cop the other day about car v. bike etiquette, so that i could properly instruct kid #3. i learned somethin’. (which was, of course, the point of the call, so yeah, success.) if we EVER get to do the hummus and red wine and chocolate thing, we can discuss.
