School Workers suspended in fake attack
Two school employees who staged a fake gun attack on a group of students during a field trip have been suspended, school officials said Monday.
During the last night of a weeklong trip to a state park, staff members convinced 69 sixth-grade students from Scales Elementary School that there was a gunman on the loose.
The students were told to lie on the floor or hide underneath tables and stay quiet. After the lights went out, some of the children began to cry. A teacher, disguised in a hooded sweat shirt, pulled on locked doors.

I would say I have no words, but I do. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Be glad they’re not forming a torch-and-pitchfork mob right.this.minute because I would SO be leading them.
Yikes!
I read this yesterday and tried to imagine what went on in the conversation where the teachers (and I use that word loosely) planned the “attack” on the kids. I can’t even wrap my mind around it.
Question: Why are they still employed?
That’s a very good question, Cara Michele. I’m rather surprised that criminal charges haven’t been brought yet (sixty nine counts of conveying a threat, emotional abuse, collaborating to commit a crime…what else is there in there?).
Had the students gotten together and reversed the situation, I’m quite sure they’d be immediately expelled.
That’s just unreal, surreal, and yes, stupid.
