I drove Alannah over to a friend’s house for a sleepover; it’s the first time she’s slept over at this particular friend’s house. I went to high school with her Mom, though we didn’t hang out then.
We walked in the door, I re-introduced myself to The Mom, and….it happened. The Stepdad looked up and said “HEY I KNOW Y’ALL!!!!” He worked for my Dad once upon a time.
The adults had a good laugh over that one, but I really, truly wish I’d gotten a picture of the girls’ faces when they realized that we all got along. I proceeded to sit down and have a good visit while the girls sat there and bombarded me with sidelong glances that said “Mom? get OUT!!!!!!”
muahahahahahahahaha.
hey, why have kids if you can’t torture them from time to time … right?
I figure this makes up for the explosive release of body fluids, and all the other things that come with infancy. Unfortunately, the lack of sleep thing is still going strong.
I can’t even imagine my son going on sleepovers. It’s so far away, that I don’t need to worry about it for awhile.
Oh Chrissy, enjoy it while it lasts. I’ve asked a few times to trade her in on 7-yr-old twins, but they won’t let me do it.
