We went to Sciworks today to check out the Folk Toys Exhibit.
The toys were a huge hit with the boys. HUGE hit. They ran from one display to another, trying to get things to work without me helping them. I’d show them how to do something, they’d yell LET ME DO IT!!!! and shove me out of the way.
The folk music playing in the huge background was a huge miss. Honestly, the toys themselves provide enough of a cacophony – the music was overstimulating for me. The staff have my deepest sympathies – I was done after 30 minutes, I can’t imagine listening to that all day long (factoring in the fact that school groups come through there in rampaging herds).
I’d love to show you pics of the boys playing with the toys, but the camera was in the car with The Teen. One of these days I’m going to learn to leave her home on jaunts like this – at this point, she’s aged out of all the displays there.
And now, I’m off to pack my bag for tomorrow – it looks to be another full day.
