Love and Hate with Blogstats

So I had downloaded and installed a neat plugin for WordPress called Counterize II. The general idea was to see if it would replace BlogPatrol and SiteMeter as my stats tracker. The short answer is: No – it didn’t.

I sat and stared as the graph moved up and down. I sat and stared in disbelief as this thing recorded each and every spam ping (something SiteMeter and BlogPatrol don’t bother with). I noticed lots of hits to certain posts – one of which I edited out, the other I’m going to reword.

After watching the thing go up and down for a week, I ultimately decided to disable it. I get enough info from BlogPatrol and Sitemeter. Having my site stats sitting on the dashboard was entirely too distracting.
