A brief blurb about link maintenance

For those who follow these things, I’ve de-linked A Creative Spanked Wife.

Although I enjoyed her artwork and reading her stories, I refuse to condone what appears to be fraud. Fortunately, I missed the message board drama (referred to in her comments).

People have commented that they hope she “gets help”, but it’s been my experience that people like “Patty” don’t. They just move on to a new message board/community and start over again.

not only have I gotten help and not moved on. I’ve not changed my name, I’ve not rejoined any communities, I’ve stayed where I need to stay to face the music.

I’ve visited you every week, often more than that. Once upon a time I came here daily, but you’ve gotten sparse in your updates. I couldn’t say anything last week, or the week before, I wasn’t in the frame of mind where I could. I’m probably still not.

I love you and your kids. I feel for your struggles with parents. You’ll make it, and you’ll be stronger for the doing.

Hate me because you need to. I understand.

    love

patty, it’s not about hate, love or any other emotion. It’s about me very carefully choosing where to spend my rapidly-shrinking online time. It’s proving to be surprisingly difficult to provide daily updates that say anything other than “uh, hi? I’m studying/playing with my kids, thanks for stopping by!” Entire weeks go by before I get to read the rapidly-shrinking list of blogs that I’ve linked to (unfortunately).

I’m glad you’re getting help, and I hope you follow through with it. I have to admit, though, that I find it surprising that you’re online at all. Usually when a person “comes out” with their online addiction problem, it’s been my experience that they take a break to concentrate on the life that got left behind due to every waking moment spent buried in their online persona.

I do hope that you’re able to pull through this. If nothing else, you’re a damn good writer and artist.
