Dear World:

I’d like to apologize for the unseemly behavior of my countrymen during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Please know that a significant number of us are just as horrified and outraged as you are – both of the “criminal” element of the victims as well as the “blame game” currently being played out in the media. I personally do not wish to make excuses for, or otherwise attempt to justify either activity.
