This and that, where it’s at

So it’s officially summer break for my cousin. The girls have cooked up a rather interesting menu of alternating overnight stays. I’m really not sure how long this is going to last, but for right now we’ll ride with it.

I’m reading The Surrendered Wife and I must say it is something. Some of the book had me nodding my head in agreement, some of it had me guffawing out loud (“Quit your job? Whatever you think, dear.” I don’t THINK so.), and parts had me reflecting over past relationships wondering if I would have reacted differently to situations had I known some of the techniques in this book. The many MANY “motivational” topically-relevant quotes are somewhat distracting. It seems like every time I get into rhythm, I come to a quote block – GAH! I’m glad I checked it out, but I don’t know if I’ll bother with purchasing it.

I’m driving Mom crazy these days, and LOVING it. Since she’s web-intolerant, I checked out Sink Reflections (The Flylady’s book). I’ve decided to start with my bedroom/bathroom, and put all Mom’s stuff in the former dining room with all her other stuff. I’m also working on/through the storage trailer. It BADLY needed organization, since when I moved back home we just shoved boxes willy-nilly in there. I went in yesterday and spent an hour just stacking the boxes that are properly labelled. Hopefully by the time Mom and Dad get settled on their new home, I’ll be done. I’m still trying to decide if I want to organize the entire house, or just leave their stuff to be gone through when they move.

Whilst I was organizing, I came across stashes of yarn here and there. I do believe I’ll be whipping out the crochet hook AND knitting needles and see if I can’t get it all worked up and/or out of the house. More on THAT later, though.

I’m back to designing webpages again, but I’m having a hard time concentrating on it these days. Now that Alannah and Daniel BOTH are interested in Neopets.com, I have to do a lot more work at night rather than working on it periodically during the day.
