I got the absolute last dregs out of the coffee pot this morning. From the pot that had been pulled off the burner. No, I couldn’t have made another pot just for one cup.

The “bread store” has closed up shop. No more 2/$1 loaves for a while. There’s another store, but it’s on the other side of town and I’m NOT making a special trip. Unfortunately, this necessitated another trip to HELL.

I just got paid Friday. It’s Saturday and I have no money left.

The cd’s that I ordered for Dan’s birthday gift didn’t get here. Which is actually OK, since I don’t have the boys computer up and running.

My Uncle suffered a serious heart attack, and they’ve gathered the family around. They already signed the DNR/NHM order, and I don’t know if they’ve pulled the plug yet or what-have-you. He’s a long-time cardiac patient, so it’s a sad time, but not entirely unexpected. It just PROFOUNDLY sux that it’s happening on my son’s birthday. I expect the folks to be gone until after the funeral.

I ended up taking pictures of Dan and his birthday cake on a 35mm *disposable* camera. I’m still shuddering.

The cake was marked “yellow” but it was, in fact, a white cake. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing – it was just more of the unexpected.

Today was Alannah’s “last” day being grounded from the computer. By 2PM, guess who had AGAIN lost her online access? Here’s a hint: Mouthing off at Mom is a bad idea when you’re skippin’ chores to play an online game.

Did I mention today is Dan’s birthday? He’s 4 today. His father didn’t call, IM, snailmail a card, or anything.
