Oh my boys

  • Posted on November 27, 2004 at 4:38 pm

It does my heart so much good to see them playing together. Joe’s finally old enough to actually chase Dan around the kitchen and vice versa. Joe will walk up to Dan for a hug and they end up rolling around on the floor wrestling and tickling each other. Ooh, and the best part of all – there’s not a lot of sibling jealousy going on right now.

Dan asked to sit next to Joe at the dinner table – and they play footsie while they eat.

*sighs in bliss*

Well, I *thought* I was being clever (whining ahead)

with my “goodbye” post. However, things haven’t worked out quite that way.

We were supposed to go to Granny’s today. Unfortunately, she’s in the hospital for observation after having a panic attack.

And now I don’t want to go.

I keep trying (and failing) to find an up-side to being trapped in a car with my folks for 4 hours each way.

Trying to make conversation with cousins that I have nothing in common with (once you exclude DNA).

Mom’s in a foul mood.

Mom “has” to be home by Saturday. This means that by the time the boys get comfortable in their new environment – it’ll be time to go.

I’m *finally* getting back on my feet after my most recent bout of insomnia and the kidney stone.

*sigh*

Maybe we’ll go after the holidays are over. I don’t know if I can handle the amount of stress I just described.

UPDATE: The decision was made for Dad to go alone. After spending the night in the hospital, everyone says that Granny needs peace and quiet. I’m so glad they passed down the law so I don’t have to be the “bad guy”.

Now if I can just make it through the weekend with Mom in her current mood, we’ll be OK.

In honor of the upcoming holidaze:

You Are the Stuffing

You’re complicated and complex, yet all your pieces fit together.
People miss you if you’re gone – but they’re not sure why.

Will you miss me when I’m gone?

  • Posted on November 22, 2004 at 10:15 pm

I know I’ll miss you! There hasn’t been a whole lot to talk about here lately…just reiterations of the same old situation.

I’m not leaving permanently, I promise. I know it’s probably not a good idea to say this yet since we haven’t known each other all that long, but

I love you.

And that’s how you can know I’ll be back. Would it help to say that I wish I could take you with me?

I hate stupid people.

Why in the name of all that’s holy do software developers feel it’s necessary to make things sound more complicated than they really are? Is it in a rulebook that I don’t know about?

I’m modding a message board. I swear to GAWD this is what the install instructions say:

Upload install.php to your forums root directory, this is where index.php and admin.php are located, next run it by going to http://www.yoursite.com/forums/install.php, you can then continue with the edits.

Note: Upload the files first THEN run the install file, if you run the installer without uploading the files first you will get a error.

SO – if I am to understand the instructions correctly, I upload the whole shebang, install it, and THEN edit files.

Ain’t that kinda backwards?

Seems to me that I should edit the files (even though the edit instructions are written in similar gobbledygook….then upload, chmod as necessary, and THEN install.

But that’s just me.

I’m SO brainfried right now.

I haven’t been sleeping well lately. I’ve been doing some heavy-duty site admin work, and I have two intensive projects to do.

When I went to the Dr. the other day – when I came home, the boys both jumped on my lap and *stayed* there. Transitioning to work is going to be a bitch.

I’ve been working with my tarot deck again. It drives Mom crazy.

Joe’s fussing, so I must cut this short.

Let’s all have a moment of silence

Cooking with Cum

Because, y’know – there’s more to life than spit or swallow.

Hat tip to Yvonne who has a What’s Grosser than Gross? post going – and so generously pointed this site out in her comments.

Hi Honey, I’m home

I have another stone just sitting there. Things are still pretty tender. Come back in January – give the lab a chance to do their analysis.
Find a GP to track my bp since it’s still up (and I don’t have one).

Now, if you’ll excuse me….I’m going to go crawl under a rock for a while.

Follow-up appointment today

for the kidney stone and I don’t want to go.

I know that everything’s probably fine. Most likely.
