My first…kiss

  • Posted on October 15, 2004 at 11:31 am

Zeno at Fast Eddie’s Bullet has a discourse on kissing that sent me down memory lane.

My first french was something of a surprise. I was a freshman in high school, so somewhere around 14 I think? At any rate, I was standing at the bus circle, waiting for a friend, when J walked up. We’d been “talking”, and I was comfortable smooching on him. Time came to get on the bus, I turned to kiss him g’bye, and he stuck his tongue in my mouth.

I was stunned. Didn’t know what to do. My ears roared.

The bus driver yelled “OOOOOOOOOh! I didn’t know you was like THAT!”

I didn’t know what to think.

He grinned that goofy lopsided grin of his and walked off. Y’know, we never really went out on an actual date??!!??

I rode the bus home in thoughtful lustful silence.

Happy Blogiversary to me!

365 days of hormonal ramblings, kids, rising through PPD, and memes.

I’ll be completely honest with you. I am SO not the “journalling” type. When I started this thing, I never dreamed I’d still be typing out entries regularly a year later. Some things have gotten easier to talk about, some things forgotten that I reread in my archives and got a fresh perspective on (time and distance and all that jazz).

Wonder what I’ll do for my next trick?

Who’s up for round two?

the phone had DAMN well better ring at that time.

If you tell your child something is coming in the mail for them

My bloggiversary is the 13th. Shockingly enough, I’ve been writing in this thing for 365 days. It’s the longest I’ve ever written in a journal in my life.

Wonder what I’ll do to celebrate??!!?? *goes off to think*

Sorting through all the clothes that you have grown out of.

I don’t want to get rid of them, yet there’s no real reason to keep them. I’m so afraid of being pregnant and unprepared again. I had donated all of Daniel’s baby clothes because we didn’t have storage space then, and I ended up regretting it most profoundly. So, they’ll get boxed up and put in storage and moved around every so often. Fortunately, I own the storage area, so it’s not a big deal.

Back to sorting and sniffing.

You mean I’ve got two more days of this?

Mom took the day off work today so she could prepare for her church yard sale. This involved her sitting in her chair in the livingroom with her pre-printed price stickers, and me schlepping 10 tons of dusty junque back and forth to be priced.

I discovered two boxes full of old magazines from the 1980s. I put them in the recycle bin, only to get yelled at. “I’ll read those again when I’m 80, and it’ll be like I’ve never seen them before!!!” Riiiiiiight. Like you’ll be able to read print that small when you’re 80, woman. *trashed*

Every single thing I brought to her to be priced for the sale was met with “but I *need* this!!!!” “It’s a COLLECTIBLE!” “It’s an ANTIQUE!”

Every argument responded to with: “Mom, you have too much crap. You can put it in the yardsale now, or I can put it in the city dump while you’re at work. I’ve still got a few months before you retire. And if you notice it’s gone, I’ll replace it.”

On the up-side – she’ll be working a shift at the yardsale and will be leaving us alone for a few hours. Downside to that – the shift is later in the day, and the church has already called and said “If you find anything else you want to get rid of, bring it on!”

I’m getting a vision…….I see………….Myself, up to my armpits in dust and 30 year old shoeboxes just *waiting* to be stylish again.

Tuesday Thursday is Chooseday

tuesday is chooseday

    Would you rather:

  1. eat a gallon of peanut butter in 30 minutes OR 100 hard-boiled eggs in 2 hours?
  2. french kiss a walrusOR lick the slide at chuck e. cheese?
  3. I’m sure the walrus’ mouth is cleaner.

  4. teach a class of hyperactive 3-year-olds OR a class of goth-punk teens?
  5. I’m around toddlers all day. It’d be a nice wicked cool switch.

  6. have high tea with the queen of england OR a round of golf with the president of the united states?
  7. Golf sux.
