Found the reason for yesterday’s odd mood: Mom switched to decaf without telling me. I started sneaking drinking coffee when I was 11. You’d THINK she’d know by now not to do that to me…..
I did end up going to the library–and alone, no less. Joe is finally independent of me enough that I can go to the library for an hour or so, and he’s OK – thereby sparing me the tons of guilt for “abandoning” him. I know it’s not logical and spending time alone is necessary for a recharge. (Guilt and logic are fundamentally incompatible. ) Sad thing is – the headache was distracting enough to keep me from doing any real browsing. I managed to get my paws on Song of Susannah by Stephen King – usually I’m not that lucky with the new releases. Also checked out Eyes of the Dragon (Stephen King) and Rincewind by Terry Pratchett. Eyes of the Dragon is going straight to Alannah. I’m gonna read Rincewind again, then I may give it to her to read too. OOH….I just realized she’s probably old enough to appreciate the Wheel of Time series. That’ll keep her busy for a good long time
