Fluffy!!!!!

aka….it’s gonna be a busy day here today. I’ve got shopping to do, and I’m giving Alannah the opportunity to showcase her babysitting skills. She’s got a bugbite on her foot and doesn’t want to wear shoes, so I’m leaving Dan here with her. This will also up the surprise factor for Dan when I whip out the Big Wheel I’m buying for him today. It’s REALLY too big for him, but he needs something so he can “ride bikes wif sissy”. I left them with Granny a number of times, and all was well, so I think she can handle it. And before you freak, I’ve got my cellphone, and I’m not planning on being gone for more than 2 hours.

Mom and I had one of our famous “heart-to-heart” talks. Basically, I sat her down and said “If you WANT me to cook and clean, you have to LET ME DO IT MY WAY!” Point blank – I’d rather cook two meals than wait til the kids are grown and out of the house before I experiment with recipes. The kids are content with mac & cheese, and I’d rather have “grown-up” food any day of the week. And, best of all…with 3 adults in the house, I’ve got a good chance of NOT having boatloads of leftovers.

Do I really think I did any good with the speech? Probably not. Mom is one of those “deliberately ignorant” people. She doesn’t agree with homeschooling, but doesn’t want to do the research to prove her point. She doesn’t want to learn how to type, much less learn how to operate a computer – even if it means NOT taking a $5/hour raise at work.

*thinks* Y’know, I think I strayed from the original theme of the post. Dis ‘ere ain’t no ORDINARY fluff!
