Can you translate this for me?

This guy answered an online personal I put up a few months ago. He recently popped back up, and we’ve been talking on IM and emailing. Today’s email said this:

yup, it’s the one good thing about being single. plenty of time to build the bank account. but of course as you know single isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, i used to never work any overtime, would rather spend it at home. but i’m not gonna whine about it, it’ll happen when it happens, probably take another 10 years but what the hell, i’m getting tired of looking. i asked the group leader about doing 12′s the rest of the week, he said he’d let me know but tonight is a sure thing, yahoo (sarcasticly)…
i was going to throw a party soon, but i don’t have a clue when that could be now, next saturday is scheduled and sunday is when i’ll celebrate my daughters birthday. i need to check the schedule and see when the next open saturday is, i kinda miss throwing some good old bashes :-)

Outside of the obvious grammar errors, this missive leaves me frustrated and confused. I thought the whole point of talking to someone online was to increase the chances of “it happening when it happens”.

I want to email him back and say “So do I ASSume that you’re just not interested in me?”

I want to chalk it up to the fact that he’s been working a lot of OT here lately and spoke without thinking.
No, check that. I’m not gonna make excuses for him.

*sigh*
