Works in Progress

It seems like everything I touch these days is a WIP. I’ve been working on that bit of yarn for two years. I finally got sick of it mocking me from the top of the closet and started working on it again. At the rate I’m going, it’ll be another 8 years before I finish my version of this afghan.
I need 3 panels like the one you see me working on – and I’m only 1/3 of the way done with the first. The stitch is work-intensive, but will be absolutely GORGEOUS when it’s done. Oh – and my version will involve the needlework on the afghan itself. I’m replacing the rose/cross centerpiece with a celtic cross, and the two side panels will be celtic knotwork. I haven’t decided what’s going in the little diamond pieces yet, but blue crosses just won’t work with my pattern. Maybe I’ll leave them blank until I see the rest of the work.

I know I’d mentioned at the first of March that I’m moving to new digs. Obviously this hasn’t happened in the time frame I was looking at. It is moving forward yet once again. I’m looking at converting to WordPress. Moveable Type is just too detail-intensive when trying to hack and upgrade. As a mom who can get pulled kicking and screaming into reality at a moment’s notice, I need it EASY. And as much of a computer geek as I am, I hate coding. So – once I get WP up and running on my new site, and get these archives transferred over, we’ll all throw a party.

Uhm, there’s something else I KNOW I’m forgetting to mention. Ah hell – I’ll come back and make another entry when I remember it.
