With THREE kids? You MUST be out of your mind! So sayeth my mom when I outlined this spring/summer’s road trip that we want to take. I want to take Alannah to see New England, and friends have invited us to tour the great north and bunk with them. Where, specifically, will we be going? Well, so far the invitations have come from NJ, CT, OH, VA, NC (yes, pretty much a straight shot down I-95. Hush.). Oh, and as long as we’re already *on* the road, the inimitable X wants us to drive to FL so he can see Dan. I’m expecting to be gone at LEAST two months with maybe a small break here at home so Mom and Dad can pinch cheeks and smell that baby smell.
What about school? Well, here’s the thing. If Mom’s hell-bent on going back to work in December, I can’t go to school. In this case, it’s an either/or situation, since I refuse to be away from my kids any longer than absolutely necessary. And if I *do* happen by some miracle to find a job that pays reasonably well, there won’t be much time left for fluff trips like this.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to blog on the trip, however. Alannah’s laptop is ancient, and draws a major vacuum. I haven’t yet been able to connect to the net with it, nor do I expect to be able to. Maybe I’ll pull into a public library or 3. Who knows!
